Audry Réserve Spéciale - Cognac XO

Description

A magnificent blend of eaux-de-vie from the Petite and Grande Champagne terroirs (equal parts, 50/50%), vines between 25 and 30 years old. At the very beginning of aging, a brief passage in new barrels in Extra will bring out noble empyreumatic and vanilla notes. Then, the eau-de-vie transferred to old casks will continue its development in a humid cellar to favor its roundness and accentuate the rancios. The first nose reveals subtle woody aromas that evolve with aeration towards vanilla scents. Floral and citrus notes then emerge, evoking orange peel and lemon zest. Roasted almonds, walnuts and nougat are added, leading the whole to a beautiful aromatic complexity, all in freshness. The palate is rich and unctuous, caramel and honey intermingle. Lovely notes of black tea, gingerbread and old oak on the finish, conferring a fine length to this Cognac resolutely turned towards elegance.
