Description
The Champagne Philipponnat Mareuil-sur-Aÿ 2014 embodies the elegance and refinement characteristic of the house. For nearly five centuries, Philipponnat, a historic name in the Champagne region, has stood out for its values of excellence, uniqueness and simplicity. Clos des Goisses, owned by the company since 1935, is one of the most prestigious and ancient clos de la Champagne, a source of powerful and Rares elaborations. This Mareuil-sur-Aÿ 2014 cuvée comes from this unique terroir and the historic vines of the eponymous village. It is part of a trilogy of 2014 parcel cuvées, benefiting from the 18th-century cellars of Château de Mareuil. The vinification of this cuvée follows the traditional method, partly under wood (50%) to avoid premature oxidation. Only the juices vinified in vats undergo partial malolactic fermentation. This Champagne Extra brut is aged for seven years at constant temperature (12°C), with a dosage of 4.25 g/l. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this Champagne is distinguished by its fine, complex aromas, reflecting the richness of its terroir. A remarkable wine that perfectly illustrates the expertise of Philipponnat.
