Raymond Ragnaud 1992 - Vintage Cognac
Raymond RagnaudDescription
A Cognac distilled from the 1992 harvest only and composed exclusively of Grande Champagne Cognac The house Raymond Ragnaud has a unique collection of vintages from 1990 to 2006 without interruption. To preserve their authenticity, no caramel, wood or sugar is added. Only a slight reduction with distilled water is carried out, with no pressure filtration or chilling. Like all Cognacs from the house of Raymond Ragnaud, this 1992 vintage is made from grapes grown exclusively in the prestigious Grande Champagne cru, a sumptuous blend of eaux-de-vie from the 1992 harvest. The bottle format is fairly classic and faithful to tradition, while a fairly exhaustive label concerning product details will attract the most discerning connoisseurs. A beautiful old-gold color, this 1992 presents a characteristic nose with intense woody aromas and a delicate hint of rancio. Delicate mineral notes of earth and chalk also make an appearance, as well as pretty hints of candied fruit and dried fig. The palate opens with a light acidity that brings vivacity. This quickly gives way to the sweetness of muscat grapes and dense oak notes. Smooth and refined, this eau-de-vie offers great volume and a magnificent aromatic balance between citrus peel and honey notes. The finish is warm and persistent on spices, vanilla, cinnamon, roasted notes and candied fruit. A wonderful Cognac Millésimé.
