Raymond Ragnaud Folle Blanche 2005 - Vintage Cognac
Raymond RagnaudDescription
The result of a double distillation of wines from the Folle Blanche grape variety. Until the Phylloxera crisis, an insect that destroyed a large part of the French vineyard, the Cognac region covered about 200,000 hectares and was entirely planted with the Folle Blanche grape variety. Almost disappeared, this variety is slowly being reintroduced in the Charentes landscape. This Cognac comes only from the Folle Blanche grape variety planted in Grande Champagne de Cognac in 1994 on a very small area of about 4 hectares. The eau de vie is fine with remarkable flowery expressions. Presence of vegetal aromas The palate is soft, almost fleshy. Very marked nuances of spicy grape, plum and mirabelle plum with a final touch of daffodil, morello cherry and ginger. The color is amber. Only a very small production.
