The 2015 Grande Dame is the 24th vintage since 1972, when Veuve Clicquot launched its first prestige cuvée to celebrate the House's bicentennial For this new vintage, Veuve Clicquot continues to carry a message of optimism through colors through a novel collaboration with Italian designer, Paola PARONETTO Dominated by pinot noir, an exceptional vintage for an exceptional year. In Champagne, 2015 was a very warm year with low rainfall and good sunshine, resulting in concentrated and structured wines.Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2015 is a skillful blend of 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay from eight historic grand crus. The vineyards of Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Ay are some of the most prestigious in the region. APPARENCE: A beautiful golden, sparkling color. NOSE: On the nose, this vintage opens with white floral notes of jasmine, honeysuckle and vine flower, before evolving into fruity nuances of apple, pear and peach. Some freshly sliced almond and frangipane notes round out the bouquet. FUNCTION: On the palate, this cuvée reveals more complex aromas of apricot Sec, hazelnut, honey and candy sugar.
